The Scotsman Food & Drink Awards 2018

In August we were told that we were finalists in the Scotsman Food and Drink Awards in the category 'Best Use of Scottish Produce', so this week 2 of our fish wives, Kirsty and Kirstin, went off to the Awards Ceremony and Conference in Edinburgh.
 
At the conference Roz Cuschieri, Chair of Emily Crisps (which we stock in our wee/big shop!) gave us all a good chat about healthy snacks and young people in the workforce. Two things we at the Smokehouse are very passionate about!
The awards was then a great chance for us to meet lots of business and restaurant/deli owners from all over Scotland, some of which we had the pleasure of meeting last week at our Fish, Food and Females event. We were sat at a table next to two fabulous food bloggers (they had a macaroni cheese themed wedding!!!), known as Foodie Explorers, who won the award for the Most Dedicated Food Blogger. We think Mrs Foodie is definitely an undiscovered fish wife... 
Sadly we didn't win our category but we send a huge congrats to Thule Ventus who did win and to Loch Leven's Larder for being another finalist. There's always next year for us!
